I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.0012229) in the state of Colorado regulated by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. I have a Master of Arts degree from Naropa University in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado.
I have several years of experience working with diverse populations in therapeutic settings. I have worked as an independent living coach for individuals with severe brain injuries and as a case worker in emergency residential services/shelter for women and children struggling with homelessness, child abuse and/or domestic violence. In more recent years, while working as a school counselor for an all-girls school, I provided individual therapy, led and co-led therapeutic groups and also conducted conflict mediations. In the summer of 2013, I interned with a women's and all-girls wilderness program in the Boulder area. As a behavior coach and therapist, I have provided services to an under-served subset of families and their children/adolescents with mental illnesses and severe behavioral and emotional dysregulation. I have also had the opportunity to lead and co-lead therapeutic groups for preteen and adolescent girls exploring leadership and empowerment, self-esteem and individualization, and healthy relationships while maintaining boundaries. Most recently, I have worked with women and men struggling with disordered eating and body image issues.
I have engaged in my own therapeutic work. I understand and have a deep respect for what it feels like to sit in the client seat.
When not practicing therapy, I love spending time outdoors! Hiking, camping, backpacking and trail running are some of my favorite activities. I enjoy exploring my creative side through photography, painting and drawing. I nurture my relational spirit by spending time with my friends, handsome husband and sweet and silly dog.
